Yarra Valley Chocolaterie

Monday,  Kate and Jenny both had days off so I took a day off from my volunteer position of receptionist and with Sam, who is on holiday from uni, we had a trip to the Yarra Valley.   Kate had never been to the chocolate place whereas the rest of us had.  Jenny has been there many times...  It was all go in the shop and factory as they were getting ready for christmas.

Since I had been here last, rows of fruit and citrus trees have been planted from the building down to the dam

On entering the shop we tasted the sample choc drops - just to see if we preferred milk, or dark  or white chocolate.  Then we walked around the display deciding what we needed to buy, then it was back to check our preference of chocolate.  At the cafe end we picked our lunches and we were all good - nothing sweet, just all savouries.  Then we had a walk in the grounds, going down to the dam and to the paddock behind to look at the alpacas, goats, cows and pigs.

Sam and me with the Yarra ranges in the background.

We walked around the dam, spotting a heron as we went by.  Then it was back to the shop to buy what we needed, before just checking our taste in chocolate once again.  Oh, and on the way our I think we all had another small spoon of chocolate buds, to be sure!

Sounds lovely Heidi! You can never be quite sure with chocolate - have to try several, just like with wine!!
