Van Gogh Museum

The third of our museums today - Van Gogh.  This was a bit of a disappointment as the building was very modern, arty and clinical somehow.  It was really about Van Gogh, his life and personality and had very few of his masterpieces. I have seen so many in other art galleries so I should not have expected to see them here.

This museum sold tickets for set times, so we had to be there for ten.  We got there a bit early and had a croissant and coffee at a cute little coffee stand.

The museum entrance is very modern, and had a lot of security. I had to take my specs off - for the camera - probably because they had gone dark as it was sunny. Then my bag was searched. At the Rijks yesterday there had been nothing like that.

In the entrance hall were huge video screens displaying visuals relevant to Van Gogh.

I especially liked  the one of Spock in the style of Van Gogh. After an hour or so we had lunch in the cafe, which had a nice view across to the Rijks.
