Early day today as we had a planned outing to Labassa, a National Trust property over at Caulfield. We had to go by train, train and tram as it would have been impossible to park.  That meant leaving Boronia on the 8:35 am!

The property is really quite  nice and must have been lovely in its heyday, surrounded by its original acreage.  Now however, it has a tiny garden around it and is surrounded by houses - and not very attractive houses at that.

After doing a tour and having a coffee in a tiny courtyard in what would have been the servants quarters,  we ambled down back down Balaclava Road with plans to have lunch somewhere before returning to Richmond for the train back out to Boronia.

The place that we picked, Treehouse Lounge,  was really something.  The four of us had a fantastic lunch there.

I returned home from the city and had an hour before heading down to Kate and Trent's to view the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.  We always watch this anyway, but this year, again, Australia was in it!

Not sure how - maybe it should be renamed the World Song Contest!

The family room was decorated for the event and....

We had lots of multicultural food....

.... and then settled down to judge the contestant...

 and Eurovision Bingo.

This year the viewer vote was taken in account - not sure how.  But....Australia was the clear winner after the jury's votes were completed yet after the viewers votes were in - we came second. We were dudded!  Maybe it was because the viewers votes were all cast around 5 am Australia time, when we are all asleep and unable to vote...
