Hitchcock and Dominoes

Robin and I went into the Art Centre on Wednesday to see North by North West at the State Theatre. It was really entertaining - about a dozen actors played all the parts.  The production was really well done, including the well-known crop duster plane attempting to kill the hero.

As we went into the theatre we notice pallets of large white bricks places around the street.  On closer inspection we saw they were to be used as dominoes - on Saturday there was going to be a two mile long line of them around the city, from the Town Hall to the Art Centre. It so happened that I was going into the city on Saturday again, to the Concert Hall part of the Art Centre this time to hear a concert of Hitchcock music from his films this time.

On the day, I and my friend went in early so we could see the domino event and it was well worth it.

After coffee in the Art Gallery , we parked ourself in the State Theatre building as the dominoes were going to end there after going up the steps of the theatre.  Another reason was that it was really hot, so watching the end of the domino line from inside the air conditioned building made a lot of sense.

It took around twenty five minutes for the dominoes all to fall - they feel over surprisingly slowly and very gracefully.  We then left the building and ate an early dinner before going into the Concert Hall for our show.  That was really good too.
