Christmas Lunch

As this year the girls would be at the in-laws for Christmas we had a lunch prior to Christmas here for the Kris Kringle.  The temperature was ramping up all week, with the result that both Friday and Saturday were fire ban days so no charcoal Weber! Kate and Trent came to the rescue and cooked the turkey on Saturday morning in their gas Weber so we could have it cold with salads - 41 degree Celsius is far too hot for the usual trimmings.  We were grateful that they all turned up - no aircon at our place!

We all fitted into the family room on two tables

After lunch the big boys fixed the car....

....while the smaller boys proceeded to cool off by soaking Kate and Laura

....who responded in kind.
They were soaked....

...but much cooler

Once the car was fixed they all went out the front and drove both cars up and down the road - till it broke again I think.  When twilight set in we walked up the road to see the lights.  Chestnut looks really amazing this year.

Heidi you have been a busy girl! Still can't imagine Christmas being so hot! Mind you it's not exactly Wintry here, which is also most odd!Enjoy your quiet Christmas.
