Our excursion today was inland to the town of Coyhaique, stopping at a national park for a brief walk on the way. The weather was a surprise to us - 27 degrees! Apparently it was a surprise to the guide too. She said it never gets that hot but lately the weather has been odd due to global warming. Apparently the winter just gone was very mild and there had not been any snow in Coyhaique plus so far they have only had ten percent of their normal rainfall.
We now have three full days at sea and expect the weather to get colder as we go further south. Tomorrow we expect icebergs and glaciers.
