Punta Arenas is at the bottom of South America, facing Terra del Fuego. I was surprised at how far across to the island it is - about two and a half hours by boat. The weather is still holding - cool but sunny. The excursion we took was very good, and our guide spoke excellent English. The city is nothing how I imagined, looking across at it from the boat it could be anywhere in the world. I think I rather imagined that there would be icebergs floating about, with grey skies - not what we actually saw, as you can see below.
Yesterday we stopped off at a glacier but I was not able to get any internet access so will post the photo here - hopefully...
