Barcelona Hop on Hop off Bus - Day 2

We did not start our second day of the Hop on Hop off  us until about 10:30. This time we went all the way round as we were undecided at to what to hop off for.

After doing that we got off at the fourth stop which was at the end The Ramblas. This street was created for the 1888 World Fair as a way to connect the city with the sea.  I culminated at the sea end with a monument to Christopher Columbus.

We only ventured up into the street until we found a restaurant to have lunch  - not easy to chose one from the hundreds lining the footpath. This one choose us - a sprucker grabbed us.  It was a Spanish smorgasbord - and very good. It meant that we could pick what we wanted.

Back on the bus we continued on to see the magic fountain that this morning looked amazing, but by the time we got there it had dried up… maybe it only operate at certain times. We then walked down to the next stop which was at a large bull ring now converted into a shopping centre.

The route was interesting as it goes into the hills and the area where two world fairs were held, those of 1888 and 1929.

The hotel has a roof top terrace and pool with great views over Barcelona so I ventured up there to take a few photos.

Tomorrow we leave Barcelona for France by train for time there with family.
