We arrived here yesterday at mid day. Other than a walk around the block we did very little that day. It was over 35 degrees - a big change from Ireland.
Today after an interesting breakfast we took the metro into Madrid city centre via a look at the outside of Real Madrid's stadium. There were lots of coaches, people etc around the stadium - not sure if it was a match or just people doing tours of the stadium.
Madrid is a very large and busy city. Being Sunday, there were lots of people about. The shopping streets are very narrow but they still find room to have trees along them - which are needed for shade.
Tonight we begin our tour of Spain and Portugal with a welcome dinner where we meet our fellow travellers.
