Today is another at sea day. We are going clockwise around Ireland to dock tomorrow morning at Bantry. The weather is fairly good, windy with blue skies.
It is good to have a lazy day as the excursions tend to be early, Yesterday we had to be off the ship for 8:30. Our trip was to Donegal, which is a town about half an hour from our mooring at Killybegs, a fishing port.
Donegal is at the top of large but shallow bay with quite a few islands in it. The islands are used for grazing as the bay is so shallow that sheep and cattle can be walked out to them when the tide is out.
We had an hour to walk around the small town before returning to the ship which left early as we were backtracking. Instead of continuing anti clockwise to Galway we are going clockwise past Belfast and Dublin again and going up to Bantry from the south in order to avoid rough seas.
So Galway is another port that we will miss out on.
