Canal cruise

We could not miss out on a cruise of the canals in Amsterdam so yesterday we took to the water. It was interesting to see the city from this view point. Many of the bridges we went under, we had walked over in previous days.

After the cruise we went in search of the Bloemenmarkt, the floating flower market.  To get there we took the tram to  Rembrandt Plein and came across a statue of Rembrandt overlooking a  bunch of statues depicting one of his paintings, Night Watch.

Then it was on to the flower market, which was a bit of a disappointment as it was really only for tourist,  selling souvenirs, seeds and tulip bulbs.

From there we went to the Heineken Brewery, but it was so packed with tourists (I know that is what we are too! ) that we decided to give it a miss, maybe something to do another day.

We walked back to the hotel, a walk that turned out to be a bit longer than I expected, so we were a bit weary by the time we got back.
