Isafjordur

We had not signed up to any excursions today but walked around the town.  This is the largest in this region of Iceland, Westfjord, but was really very small. It was pretty overcast, as the view from our balcony shows.  On our walk we did not see any of the inhabitants, other than tour guides.  Maybe with three cruise ships in their port, they go into hiding...

It took us under two hours to do the circuit. Of course, we did not walk along every street but followed a marked walk on the map the Tourist office handed out.

Some of the  houses date back to the mid 1800's and some were really interesting.  Most of the houses were much newer.

We spotted a very pretty bird - a bit like a thrush but a nice flash of colour.  Rain started to settle in about halfway through our walk but it was only light.
