We had not booked any excursions as we had been in the area twice before. Once with Kate and Robin's mother and once on our own, the year we had a trip up to the Orkneys. The promise of maybe seeing Nessie could not lure us...
At a presentation yesterday, the tour directed informed us that Invergordon is THE mural town of Scotland, so we left the ship to have a walk through the town to view the murals. We had planned to do that anyway.
The weather was a bit threatening, but the rain has held off and it is quite pleasant now. We leave in an hour to continue up the coast to the top of Scotland and the Orkneys.
It is a very pretty town, with lots of well tended flower boxes and the murals are rather nice. Being such deep water, the ship was moored against a pier so we just had a five minute walk to the end of it and we were in the High Street. It is a really quiet little town.
Even the station was decorated with very good paintings.
