Round the horn

Yesterday we cruised passed Cape Horn.  Technically this is not a cape, it is actually the southern most point of a small island at the end of South America. Once passed there we basically leave land behind until we get to the Antartic Peninsula.

Today we have gone below 60 degrees latitude South and are in the Drake Passage so we are really in the Antartic now. We have a day of available lectures about what we are going to see, wildlife, islands etc.  Usually  these lectures are not too full, but as the deck area is really cold and windy, the theatre is packed.

I did get togged up after breakfast with my warmest gear and had a walk around the deck, half the deck to be exact -  once I rounded the deck and was walking against the wind I scuttled back inside.

Sounds very cold. That toasty warm Storm jacket has seen a lot of places. :)
