After a few days at sea we arrived at the coast of the Penninsula and saw many icebergs, glaciers, whales and penguins. We moored off the U.S. research station at Palmer and around eight or so of the researchers came onboard to give us a talk about their life there. This was brought forward from tomorrow as the weather was not going to be good enough for them to cross the short distance to the ship. Just as well they did as the forecast proved to be correct and we had little visibility the next day until late in the day when we moored off the South Shetland Islands.
Today we saw several research stations in addition to more glaciers, more ice bergs, more penguins and more whales. And as always, plenty of sea birds. Another fantastic day
