Ayers Rock to Coober Pedy to Port Augusta to Tanunda

Two days ago we left the rock  for the trip home. First day we went as far as Coober Pedy and stopped the night  in another  underground motel.

We left early the next day for the drive to Port Augusta. It was not too long a drive so we stopped off at Woomera, which is still partly a military site.

At Port Augusta we arrived just too late to visit an arid garden but were able to go to a lookout that was still open and had a great view of the Flinders Ranges.

Today we drove the short distance to the Barossa Valley.  We arrived early afternoon and went along to the Maggie Beer place for lunch and a cooking demo.  That was great fun, nice lunch too.

From there we went to our motel in Tanunda and then went out to the Jacobs Creek Visitor centre where Judy and I tasted a few wines - and purchased a few too....

Tomorrow we leave for home - it has been a good holiday and we have been really lucky with the weather.  It has been very warm but now we will be back to winter in Ferntree Gully.
