Siracusa

We took a tour to see Siracusa yesterday.  The weather was quite bright and we decided not to take a jacket and just got away with it - the rain came as we got on the bus for the return trip.

The first stop was Noto, where the buildings are all from the 1700's due to an earthquake flattening it is 1693.  Dodgy place to live here- if the volcano doesn't get you the earthquake will,

Then we went on to Ortega, which is the first area settled by the Greeks. Technically it is an Island
but you really don't notice this as the bridge is so short.

From there we went onto our third and last stop which was the archeological park Neopolis.  The Greek theatre there is used today - but with a lot of additions.  I would love to have seen a play here but they do not start until we are on the other side of the island.
