Monday in Sydney

The weather today could not be more different to yesterday.  It had actually stopped raining last night so we were able to see the lights again and this time, keep dry.   Saturday we thought that the Opera House was the best - today we changed our minds - the display on the Custom House was fantastic.
It went on for around seven minutes, and was just mesmerizing - we watched it several times. The creation of a company called The Electric Canvas , the display was just unbelievable.

We were booked on a tour of the Opera House this morning at 11:30 and that was interesting.  It enabled us to get nearer the 'sails' of the roof.

After the tour we walked through the Botanical Gardens to Mrs Macquaries Chair.  The sun was shining and there were a lot of people in the gardens - we were lucky not to be mown down by the lunch time joggers.  Some obviously take this very seriously and we couldn't help thinking that there had better be showers back at the office!
Looking across Farm Cove at the two most famous Sydney icons
We then headed back toward the city, for lunch and to pick up our bagagge which we had left at the hotel.  By the time we were going out to the airport the clouds were building up again but we had had a good day.

We landed at Melbourne over thirty minutes late, being stacked over Mt Buller due to the bad weather in the city.  It was pouring with rain in Melbourne when we drove home, but unlike in Sydney it was also very cold.

Amazing light show! However, we have had our own on Buck House, on Saturday night when the Jubilee concert was in full swing and Madness were playing 'Our House' up on the roof of the palace.
So glad you had a better last day weather wise - the photos have come out really well!
