East Bergholt

Robin and I are staying with Mary and Brian in East Bergholt, which is in Suffolk. We arrived yesterday and had lunch in Dedham with them, together with Margaret and Tony who had come up from Rustington for the day - quite a long drive for them. Lunch was at the Boathouse, and it was a really nice meal.  Afterwards we all had a walk around the town before heading our separate ways.  On the way back Brian took us through Manningtree to show us a very special clock - can you spot why?

Today the four of us had a day out in Bury St Edmunds and it was really interesting.  We had a tour of the Cathedral and also a walking tour of the town.  There is so much history to see here and some of the buildings are very old. The cathedral itself was started in 1503!  The weather yesterday and today could not have been better.

OK! Spotted the error on the clock dial.Numbers seven and eight are reversed. Lovely to see glimpses of the quainter side of England. You are certainly getting out there meeting up with friends and enjoying a few moments remembering the old and seeing the advances that have happened since your younger years.

Elli and I had lunch last Thursday and Elli is much improved. It was good to see Elli looking her old self.

Enjoy every day and take care of each other, Love Pat X
