Our trip over here could have been better - we arrived about 18 hours late due to having to sit on the tarmac at Tulla for several hours (in the plane). The flight to Kuala Lumpa, the first of three legs, never happened. Our flight was changed to a direct flight to Dubai, leaving at 7 pm the following day, with a four hour wait for the flight to Gatwick.
Oh, well, it could have been worse and this is only the second time we have had a problem like this so we should not complain.
On arriving at Stifford Clays we had a quick freshen up and then Andy drove us over to St Lawrence Bay where Margy and Brian had arranged a BBQ, which was lovely. Other than that we have not done very much - we have just been getting over our 48-hour journey. Today we felt a bit more lively and I even had the energy to walk down to Blackshots Library to get some books to read. We have both walked over to 'The Shops' several times - each time we come here seems to be more closed shops!

Besides the drama getting over there, it sounds like nice relaxing holiday so far. I might have to try one of thme next time.
Check out that blue sky in Grays! Looks almost like summer. :)
Today is somewhat cooler with rain threating. Yesterday was really hot.
Hi heidi, really good pics. As usual your photographic skills have captured the essence of the areas you shoot. It is amazing how wonderful the old disused pits have been reborn into beautiful scenic areas worthy of walking around. You are obviously-todate-enjoying a somewhat restful holiday, which was your intention. Keep well and keep the great pics coming. Luv to you both, Pat X
