Robin and I drove up to Canberra for the weekend as we wanted to see the Masterpieces from Paris exhibition. We arrived late afternoon on Saturday and just looked around the Civic area where our hotel was before settling on a restaurant for dinner.
Sunday morning was spent in the National Gallery with several hundred other people.
Of all the paintings my favourite is Starry Night by Van Gogh.
Lunch was in the Portrait Gallery which is sort of next door.
The High Court is between the two gallery's and was open for visitors today so we were able to have a look around it.
From there we had a walk along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
Monday we drove back, stopping off at Milawa to get some cheese. It was a long trip to see some paintings but we thought it was very worthwhile.

Sounds like a great weekend Heidi, we wil be doing a similar weekend mid Feb as I/we are keen to see the masterpieces as well. Really nice photos too... especially love the 2nd one!
I love the sheep! Not quite sure what it is doing though
:)
A sheep in an armchair does look a bit odd, doesn't it.
