At Christmas Jenny and family gave us vouchers for a meal at Studley Park Boathouse and today we had that meal. We had things to do in the area (donate our retired printer to Green PC, go to Ikea - always a fun time) so we thought it was an ideal time to have a really nice lunch in the restaurant. The cafe looked good too, so we must come back here again and try that out.
The setting so nice, right on the Yarra, as you would expect being called the boathouse. It was opened in 1864 and the original building has been restored and now houses Beate's Restaurant, a cafe and a kiosk so it caters for all, from cyclists along the path to those who want a long, long lunch. We had a walk along to Kane's Bridge and along the river bank opposite the boathouse.
