Robin and I had a drive out to Ballarat to see if we could find the platypus which has been carved into the dry bed of Lake Wendouree. We got there around 12:30 so decided to have lunch first in Pipers first. A waitress told us that the playtpus was not finished so we took her word for it and then promptly forgot about it anyway. After our really nice lunch we had a walk down to the lake bed and then went through the Botanical Garden before returning home. The lake is really overgrown now - it will be cleaned up though and then refilled and kept filled. There is a little amount of water visible in the main lake but the smaller pool still has some water in it, more like a swamp though.
