Today we left Salt Lake with Geoff and Jill for our trip to Yellowstone Park. We just had two stops on the way. The first was to drop in on Amy and her family at Syracuse to say hello. We would be seeing them all again for Halloween, in their Halloween costumes. How Amy has managed to come up with so many costumes I just don't know. I would struggle with one!
Next was a lunch break at a very nice Italian restaurant. The countryside in Montana is very pretty with majestic snow covered mountains as a background. We arrived at the park and drove straight through to see Old Faithful erupt. On the way we stopped quite a few times to photograph the Bison, Elk and a single coyote that we were very lucky to spot.
Even though it is off season there are a fair number of people in the park so by the time Old Faithful erupted we had been joined in the viewing area by quite a number. Today was an ideal day to visit the park as the weather has been just lovely. After the geyser erupted it was nearly 6.30 so we headed back to the motel.
