Liverpool

The ship docked in Liverpool early this morning before we awoke. It is a large place with the docks very near the city centre.  

The excursion we picked was to Port Sunlight, a company village built by the founder of the Sunlight Soap company in the late 1800's for the workers of the company.  The houses are really nice and the village is nicely laid out, very spacious.  It is however right bang up next to the factory wall but that does not deter from attractiveness of the houses. 

We were rather later getting back to the ship due to heavy traffic but the tour guide was determined to show us the other features of Liverpool. Two cathedrals, (three counting a bombed out shell) and the Chinese quarter with an archway which is apparently higher than the one in Manchester as the guide very gleefully pointed out.

At the moment we are on our way up the coast to Greenock, Scotland.
