Melton Botanical Garden

This month Jen and I picked a garden which is being developed - Melton Botanical Garden. However, we did not realise just how much of a work in progress it is.  After an hour we decided to go onto a garden we have been to before - St Erth which was about forty or so minutes further on at Blackwood.

Melton Botanical Garden has a stream going through it with some lovely old gums on the bankside.

The Lake was pretty nice and we set off to walk around it, only to find that
the path around it was not completed so it would have been a bit of bush bashing.
With added snakes no doubt so we gave that away!

The ducks were pretty relaxed in their little lake

We walked through to the more completed garden and
found that completed only meant laid out with paths.
Once this garden is mature it will be really nice though.

Another one of the bed which are still being worked on.  This garden will be lovely for the
people who like on the estate right next to it.  It is probably very nice for them now, even though
it is not possible to walk right around the lake yet.

We moved on to St Erth, a very established garden, with the house dating from 1860

Even the vegie garden was beautifully laid out

The bush garden is nice to walk through - the trees are not all gums though, some are Blackwood Wattles
