Friday I joined Andrew and Lisa at Maryborough to take part in a walk around the local oval to raise money for Cancer Research. It was really wet Friday afternoon and part of the evening. Lisa and I took the girls home to sleep at about 11 pm (and we slept too) but we were all back at the Oval early on Saturday morning. Andrew stayed, and walked, all night along with several others of the team.
This is the first year that SES has been in this event and they well and truly reached their target figure.
The girls had a good time. Adelaide was off with her friend and we only saw her now and then.
Eloise stayed with us of course, and went around in the the pusher with one or other of us. But Saturday morning she actually walked around the course twice, which for a two-year old is very good. Once around the Oval is 480 metres - Andrew cycled around Sunday to check the distance.
Sid the Seagull turned up Saturday to tell us to 'slip,slop,slap' but that was not necessary either days - wet weather gear was the most appropriate garb. Thankfully it was not really cold and we did occasionally see the sun. In fact today (Monday) is the first time that Melbourne weather has been under 20 degrees Celcius for over 123 days! And no-one minded the rain - we really do need it.

How are your legs feeling Heidi? We were both sore for the first couple of days. Andrew was obviously really sore because he walked for so long overnight. Back to normal now. Ready to do it again!
