Paperbark Tree

Now you see it...
Some years ago we planted a paperbark with the idea that it would protect the ferns from the sun.  The tree did just that but it grew - and it grew.  It has become a bit of a problem as  it does make a a mess of the roof and gutters and was also beginning to lift up the driveway so it had to go.  Around here we can only remove native trees if the council approve so we got a permit from them and arranged for a person to come out and cut  the tree down.  Today was the day and in about four hours the tree was gone...

Now you don't...
There was no way that we could have taken this tree down ourselves as it really was very high.  Part of the deal for the removal permit is that we replace the tree with another.  We will make sure that the new tree does not grow as high as this one.

Looks good! Will be a lot more light in the lounge room now.

Yes, it certainly looks different and has a much lighter feel to the whole site.
