Poole, Winchester and M25

We decided to take it easy going home. After a leasurely breakfast at the hotel we popped over to see our old neighbours, Lynda and Mary. Mary had a fall some months ago, doing a lot of damage to her left foot so she has been more or less housebound for sometime. We had a nice long chat with them, leaving about 12:30 to continue our way home. It was really nice to catch up with them.
Next stop was Winchester. The parking arrangement was really good - a Park and Ride. Leaving there at about 3 we thought we would get home about 5 - big mistake! There was an accident on the M25 and we were stuck for hours, eventually getting home after 10:30.
Problem with the road is that once on it, it is impossible to get off before the next junction, maybe 12 miles away. It's a bit like being in a tunnel really.
Today we will take it easy...

Hi Mum & Dad,

Did you take a photo of a sign that said 'Winchester'?

A 7 hour drive instead of 2 hours is crazy! Perhaps we shouldn't complain about the South Eastern so much. ;)

Love Kate

Stuck on the 'road to hell', that must have been a nightmare! We did think you might be caught up in it when we heard about it on the travel news on the radio. Jenny and Rob
