Scienceworks

Adelaide stayed this weekend and on Sunday we took her to Spotswood to go through  Scienceworks.  It is a fun place for kids, lots of things to push, pull, turn and prod.  She had a go at the digger but it was a bit tricky for her. My favourite there is actually the old pump house itself. The museum is on the site of a pumping station which had a steam engine running the pump.  One pump has been restored and is really quite hypnotic to watch - very soothing.   Adelaide was pretty interested in that too - a volunteer was there to explain the workings of the pump and we chatted with him, and the guide, for sometime.  The museum is on the shore of the Yarra and Westgate Bridge can be seen between the two towers.
