Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo

I was out early this morning meeting friends for breakfast at a cafe in The Basin, the next suburb along.  While waiting for them a small flock of black cockies flew over with the obvious aim of destroying a few trees. I think the one below spotted a maggot - it doesn't look just like torn tree.

It is not surprising that farmers (and householders) prefer not to have cockies in their areas as they really are very destructive. With their strong beaks they can really damage a tree.
